Enders Game

Enders Game
The book I have been reading throughout the latter half of the summer is Enders Game.  I do like the book. I like Ender, the main character, he is a young boy who is asked to join a battle school and become a soldier.  I really like the fact that he is so smart, but he is only 7 years old.  It is a different idea than a lot of books.  I can’t put it down, but it is a very dense book, so it takes me awhile to finish a few chapters.  It is working for me as reading for pleasure.  It is thrilling and intense, but also spaced out so I don’t rush through it.  There are some parts where I feel something more exciting could be happening, but some of those parts really bring the story together.  I think most people who like books with action, suspense, and a good storyline will like this book.  I have not read other books by the author.  I picked this book to read because my Dad, who loves books I love, recommended it to me.  Also, my brother read it in 8th grade and said it was great.  I usually pick up books from recommendations, or if I have read other books from the same author, or it’s a sequel of another book I have read.  My favorite books to read are books with good action or comedy, good storyline, and good characters that I can relate to

  3. If you like Ender, there are a bunch of Ender books - Speaker For the Dead, Ender's Shadow and Shadow of the Hegemon. There may be more.

Ender reminds me of one of my favorite films from the 80s - The Last Starfighter.

I think Mr. Fuder still reads this book in 8th grade. What do you think you will discover on a second reading?
